The Cambodian city of Phnom Penh displays a unique recyclable waste collection system. This article follows the daily practices pickers and movements through city. hereby examined recurrent interactions define overall infrastructure handling that can be described as infracycles: sociomaterial constellations which quotidian flows persons, goods, tools, narratives ideas are organized in circular manner, thereby functioning an actual lived infrastructure. is out bottom-up, pickers, depot owners, others interrelate. As circulates cycles, different sociomaterialities emerge, shape Keeping somewhat clean, form material itineraries direct urban ecologies. In same process, oozy materials leaking from infracycles also create new versions naturecultures, compete with other imaginaries designs for Penh’s transformation.

Melioidosis, Phnom Penh, Cambodia

We describe 58 adult patients with melioidosis in Cambodia (2007-2010). Diabetes was the main risk factor (59%); 67% of infections occurred during the rainy season. Bloodstream infection was present in 67% of patients, which represents 12% of all bloodstream infections. The case-fatality rate was 52% and associated with inappropriate empiric treatment.
